In a fifth-grade classroom, Leo the tuatara and Squirtle the turtle face turmoil when their teacher Mrs. Salinas goes on maternity leave. Leo, nearing the end of his life, fears unfulfilled dreams, while Squirtle's jealousy leads to betrayal. Leo's secret ability to talk helps students with their problems until Squirtle exposes him, leading to Leo's abandonment. The students, with Ms. Malkin's reluctant help, embark on a journey to find Leo. Leo discovers he can live longer, renews hope, and is rescued by the students from alligators. As the school year ends, Leo advises unity, and Ms. Malkin gains redemption, becoming a teacher for kindergarteners with Leo and Squirtle as class pets.
Frosty the Snowman
Frosty the Snowman follows the journey of a snowman and a schoolgirl who venture to the North Pole to keep Frosty from melting. During a snowy day at school, a lousy magician named Professor Hinckle entertains the class.
When the bell rings, the children run out to build a snowman and decide to name the snowman Frosty: “Frosty it is, Frosty the Snowman!” Meanwhile, the magician’s silk magical hat is swept into the sky, where the little girl catches it and puts it onto Frosty’s head. Doing so, causes Frost to come to life and exclaim “Happy Birthday!”
Frosty the Snowman is memorable because it includes many catchy Christmas songs and features the adorable Frosty and the school children. One scene I love is when Frosty is asked by the policeman “Do you want a ticket, wise guy?” Frosty answers “I would love one!” Don’t forget to add Frosty the Snowman to your watchlist!
