On Christmas Eve, the greedy miser Scrooge (Scrooge McDuck) resents the joy of Christmas until visited by the ghost of his deceased partner, Marley (Goofy). Marley warns of visits by three spirits.
The Ghost of Christmas Past (Jiminy Cricket) reveals Scrooge’s lost love and his love for money over her. The Ghost of Christmas Present (Willie the Giant) shows Scrooge the struggles of his employees. One employee is Bob Cratchit (Mickey Mouse), and his ill son, Tiny Tim (Morty Mouse). The Ghost of Christmas Future unveils a bleak future, leading Scrooge to vow to change his ways.
On Christmas morning, transformed, Scrooge spreads joy by donating, accepting invitations, and surprising the Cratchits. He promises to raise Bob’s salary and become his partner, and they celebrate Christmas together.
This 1980s classic teaches the lessons of generosity and compassion and the consequences of greed and selfishness. It also teaches the importance of family and community, and that a person has the ability to change their ways.
