Rudolf the red-nosed reindeer
Rudolf the red-nosed reindeer
In Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, Rudolph is born with a glowing red nose, causing him to be ostracized by his peers. He goes on a journey with misfit friends Hermey and Yukon Cornelius.
Together they encounter the Island of Misfit Toys and the Abominable Snow Monster. After overcoming obstacles and rescuing his loved ones, Rudolph’s unique nose saves Christmas as he leads Santa’s sleigh through a storm. Rudolph with his red nose, delivers joy to children everywhere.
Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer is another stop-motion winter classic. I particularly enjoyed the supporting characters like Hermey the Elf and Sam the Snowman. Hermey dreams of being a dentist but is obliged to spend his days making toys.
As for Sam, he narrates the special and introduces himself by saying, “Call me Sam. What’s the matter? Haven’t you ever seen a talking snowman before?” Throughout the special, Sam tells Rudolph’s story while singing with his banjo. I especially loved the classic song “Silver and Gold.”
Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer will always remain a classic because it beautifully illustrates themes of acceptance, perseverance, and the importance of being yourself. Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer is a great choice for a classic movie to watch during the holiday season!
